Before I get complaints about my kids not getting fruits and vegetables they of course get them.  I simply will not be filling them in every week.  This is how I do this, I have $15-$20 a week that I spend on fruit and veggies.  I spread it out over the week but I like to give them choices.  Once I get the fruit on Monday I will write out what we got at how much, but I will go back later in the week for more too.

Total for meals/snacks/fruits = $112.49 this is probably a little high I will get better on getting them exact as we go.  Remember this is 6 people so yours might vary but it possible to feed a family of 6 for around $100 every week and still get a lot of fruits and veggies.  I will write a list of what all I can get with $15 when I shop!

Rough patch

Sorry I have hit a little bit of a rough patch in life lately and haven't been doing my blogs like I should.  I am going to try and do this a different way and see if it will help me stick to it.  Starting next week I am going to do our menu for the week and tell you how much is spent on the meals that we do.  If you like it that way I will keep it up, plus I will put in really good deals that I find:), if you don't like it I will go back to the old way!

Busy week

Well last week I found out that my in-laws were going to take my 3 oldest kids for a week one week from the day I found out.  If you know me this means that I freaked because my entire house has to be cleaned before people come to visit and I needed to get through their clothes to find out what still fits, since we normally get this up there(just cheaper).  Anyway I have been running around crazy and haven't had time to put up the deal that I got on Monday.
I just did Walmart and did the price matching.

Randalls

Okay I am sure you are wondering how we get by on no meat or chicken, but we don't I normally save a little bit every month so when we find a food value on meats we can stock up.  Like at Christmas time this last year we got 48 pounds of chicken (we got it on sale for $.99/#!)  We were talking about it this morning because we are actually getting really close to needing to stock up again.  We have been running really low on ground beef for a while now, there have just not been any good deals, well Randalls this week has the 85/15 for $1.99/#.  This used to be above my price point, but with the prices lately this is a really good price for 85 so we went in fast today to get some.  We got 22 pounds, still hoping that maybe we will find a better price but for now we will have enough for a while!
So here is our transaction, I needed a few things for Father's Day dinner too.
4 packs of ground beef ($12.72, $11.76, $11.18, $10.79)
Thin pork chops (14) $9.84
Gallon of milk $3.34
Broccoli $2.18
Carrots $.99
3 Melting choc $1 each !!!  super excited about this going to make Chad get more probably.  They last a long time checked the date and they are in 2013, and this stuff is great, it is the Dolci brand.

Total 65.80 (saved $58.29 even though their prices are higher than some still great with basically all meat)

Left this month
$160.34 - 65.80 = $94.54
getting a little low, but I had extra to cover since we bought so much meat!
